SUCCESS STORIES– INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION
THE PROBLEM
Our client, an international company specializing in the manufacturing of seamless pipes primarily for the oil market, requires an Automation Solution for its Tube Final Manufacturing Line, which consists of a series of autonomous machines acquired from various specialized suppliers. The line comprises a series of (7) stations or zones, where pipes undergo a sequence of tests, inspections, and specific finishing treatments before packaging and shipping in bundles.
THE SOLUTION
The solution involved the development of software for seven Rockwell RSLogix-5000 PLCs, the development of operation and maintenance HMI, and on-site commissioning.
The project scope covered the entire lifecycle, starting with functional descriptions and basic engineering, sequencer development, programming of communications between the PLCs themselves and between them and the Power Drives, simulation for program testing, on-site commissioning, and subsequent training.
The team consisted of eight full-time engineers and two part-time engineers, and the project was carried out in an Off-Shore service model, which means that all development was done in our offices.
RESULTS
With the solution in production, the business benefits were:
Reduced time and optimization of production processes.
Increased control and supervision of production processes.
Enhanced visibility of the business due to information availability in each Process ZONE.
Reduced costs in process time.
Improved product quality.
